Production Manager

 

Currently working with A.W. Poultry Breeder Farms as production manager.

 

     Supervising seven broiler breeding farms, of which three farms were added since I joined the company.

I am managing the breeding farms by supervising farm managers on each farm and reporting to managing director.

 

My duties are:-

 

·        Currently I am supervising flock of 225000 broiler parent stock breeder at seven of our farms.

·        Brooding, rearing and managing production of over 225000 parent stock broiler in different phases both in environmentally controlled and open houses.

·        Preparation and implementation of cleaning and disinfection program for our farms and recommendation of different chemical disinfectants after laboratory testing the efficacy of each disinfectant.

·        Coordinating with feed mill for accurate formulation of feed and also according to bird’s health and age and specify for change in formulation as and when required.

·        Coordinating with broiler hatchery for better chicks hatch and keep in check flock fertility.

·        Preparation of ventilation settings of all farm open as well as environmentally controlled farms according to age, weather and type of house open or environmentally controlled/close houses.

·        I keep up to date record of health status of flock by monitoring monthly twice vaccine titers of flock and checking signs and symptoms, postmortem and laboratory tests and recommendation of medication when needed.

·        Monitoring weekly body weights, feed allocation and day to day working e.g bird’s grading, vaccinating birds, bio-security measures, care and management of hatching egg etc at farm by instructing to farm manager and farm supervisor.

·        I also make graph of body weights, feed consumption, production percentage, egg weight, and hatchability and monitor the flock’s performances.

·        I also design and schedule vaccine and lighting program for flocks.

·        I also check the daily, weekly and monthly reports of all farms.

·        I also monitor and recommend purchase of farm equipments and all other demands.

·        I also check accounts and salaries of working staff of all farms.

·        I also prepare and evaluate flock cost and performance summaries of flock in order to check our working performance and therefore, evaluating the economic perspective of the business.

Farm Manager

 

      I worked as farm manager with K&Ns Poultry farms at one of their parent broiler breeder farm.

 

      My duties were,

 

·        Brooding, rearing and managing production of 125000 broiler parent stock.

·        Preparation of farm i.e Cleaning and Disinfection program and its implementation by supervising the farm supervisor and farm workers.

·        Supervising and doing myself working with automatic brooder (diesel heaters). Fitting and allocation as per bird’s requirement for temperature.

·        Preparation of chick arrival program. i.e space setting, and equipment setting .i.e. feeders, drinker etc.

·        Supervising vaccine and doing myself, eye drop, drinking water and inject-able S/C,I/M, (routes of vaccines).

·        Doing weekly body weight of birds and checking uniformity of flocks, and when needed correcting the uniformity by way of,

Separation of heavy, standard and lower body weight birds into separate pens, so that to bring the birds into uniform body weight range for peak performance.

·        Correction of space, counting of birds, feeding and drinking space.

·        Checking health status of flock by daily monitoring, signs and symptoms at day and night times and daily postmortem of dead birds.

·        Also monitoring the vaccine titers of flock on monthly basis.

·        I also kept daily record of mortality, feed consumption and vaccine/medication etc of flock.

·        I also maintained weekly body weight and feed allocation record and also made cumulative record of depletion and feed consumption.

·        I also manage a feed store, general store and egg room store with help of respective farm store keepers.

·        Also supervising the grading and disinfection of hatching eggs with use of automatic Egg Sanitizing machine.

I started my career with SB Poultry as Trainee Officer at one of their environmentally control broiler breeder farm in Mansehra.

 

During my training I learnt and performed the following duties,

 

·        Rearing of parent broiler flock of approximately 100000 birds.

·        Practical experience of handling equipments concerned with environmentally controlled farming.

·        Practical handling of vaccination skills, feeding programs, body weights, uniformity and grading techniques and bio-security measures.

·        Gained reasonable practical knowledge of disease diagnosis.
